SNOW REMOVAL

Among its primary duties Public Works is responsible for snow removal on all major City thoroughfares. Similar to its 4-zone leaf collection system, the City is divided into 8 snow control zones that prioritize the most heavily used roadways within each zone first. A new City ordinance requires that during a declared snow emergency (3 or more inches) cars must be removed from the street to allow the snowplows to get through.

Public Works asks that all City residents please remember that:
• cars must be removed from the street when 3 or more inches are predicted
• Public Works monitors weather using Doppler radar, Police and citizen observation
• City’s 11-snow removal vehicles feature plows, salt dispersion and brine (saline
)
