RETENTION & EXPANSION

The City employs a team approach to maintaining good relations with its resource partners and works hard to help local businesses succeed and grow. Based on the value of face-to-face contact, Trotwood’s

Development Specialists:
• conduct over 50 annual R&E visits to local businesses
• use Montgomery County’s award-winning Business First software tracking program
• provide local businesses with economic expertise; and
• assist local businesses to expand their facilities and create more jobs

Recent Retention & Expansion success stories include J.W. Devers & Son, Inc.. In looking for a way to expand this 110-year old business located in Olde Town, Devers President Jerry Haupt turned to Trotwood. Through its collaborative efforts with its Business First resource partner CountyCorp, the City:
• assisted Devers in obtaining $450,000 grant
• facilitated their purchase of former Trotwood fire station
• helped Devers redevelop historic structure into their Mobility Division operations
• helped them create 2 new jobs and retain 19
