Accreditation
In April 2003 Trotwood Police earned its initial Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and joined an elite group of less than 1,000 departments nationwide. As part of the CALEA requirements, the City must post Internal Affairs Investigation Statistics:
2005
• 22 Internal Affairs (IA) Investigations
• 7 of 22 IA (32%) resulted in some form of discipline
• 7 Formal Investigations, 10 Informal Investigations, 5 Inquiries
• 19 Officers were involved in the 22 investigations
2006
• 18 Internal Affairs (IA) Investigations
• 3 of the 18 IA (17%) resulted in some form of discipline
• 8 Formal Investigations, 10 Informal Investigations, 3 Inquiries
• 15 Officers were involved in the 18 investigations
