PARKS & RECREATION OVERVIEW
The City’s Parks & Recreation Department is charged with providing all Trotwood residents a comprehensive leisure services program. Governed by its 5-member Parks & Recreation Board, City staff is responsible for supplying the professional leadership necessary to determine the community’s leisure needs. The Department also strives to create an environment where privately operated and sponsored leisure service efforts can safely flourish, offering residents a ‘value-added’ program.
This City program has direct responsibility for:
• implementing Council’s City Parks strategic plan
• providing select recreation activity programs
• maintaining City parks and horticulture
• managing City recreation facilities
• providing professional growth opportunities for its Board and staff
