Council Profiles


Councilwoman Nicole I. Johnson, Ward 1

Nicole I. Johnson was originally appointed to Trotwood's Ward 1 council seat in April 2010 and elected to the position the following November. Council Member Johnson is married to Derrick S. Johnson. Together they have one son, Caleb, who was born during Mrs. Johnson’s first year on council.

Council Member Johnson is the Manager, Regulatory Reporting and Analysis for CareSource Management Group. Prior to joining CareSource, she was a Senior Consultant with LexisNexis. She is an alumna of the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut and Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  

Mrs. Johnson currently serves as the council liaison to the Planning Commission. She is a member of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and the Trotwood Rotary. In addition, she is a member of Generation Dayton, a Midwest alumni representative for the Taft School, and a member of the Brown University Alumni Association. Council Member Johnson has served on the Trotwood Civil Service Commission and is a graduate of the inaugural Trotwood Leadership Academy. Other past community and professional activities include participating as a judge for Trotwood High School Senior Project presentations, serving on the LexisNexis MLK Birthday and Black History Month Corporate Steering Committee, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Boston Chapter of the Urban Financial Services Coalition. Nicole is an honored recipient of the LexisNexis Leadership and Mellon Bank Excellence Awards.
