CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION

Trotwood’s Detectives are responsible for investigating all felony crimes and some misdemeanors. They work hard to reduce the community’s overall felony crime rate by increasing their case clearance rate. The Detective section includes 1 Major, 1 Sergeant and 7 Detectives, whose job it is to prevent crime rather than respond to it.

The Detective section is responsible for:.
• coordinating with local, state and federal agencies
• working with the Montgomery County Regional Crime Lab
• preparing cases with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office
• determining trends in criminal activity
• working with the Patrol section in deterring crime
