Public Safety

The City's Public Safety Department oversees its Fire/EMS and Police operations. Their respective command staffs report to the Public Safety Director who is responsible for their annual budget, facility, vehicle, and staffing needs. The Public Safety Director administers:
• Fire Suppression, Prevention, Training, Public Education
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• 3 Fire Stations with nearly 100 personnel
• 4 ALS medic units, 1 engine company, 1 ladder-company
• Police Patrol, Anti-Crime, Criminal Investigation, Drug/DUI Enforcement
• Police Command Center with over 50 personnel
• 23 marked cruisers, 11 unmarked cars, 9 bicycles
