Code Enforcement and Inspection Showing Results
To help make Trotwood a cleaner and safer place, the City's Code Enforcement and Inspection program encourages citizens to please call (937) 854-7222 or (937) 854-7225 to report:
• building, sidewalk and curb repair issues
• building permit issues
• disabled and unlicensed vehicles
• overgrown bushes and grass and
• dead trees
• erosion problems
• rat and rodent problems
Since moving its code enforcement efforts in-house, the City has successfully investigated, addressed and resolved a total of 676 complaints involving
accessory structures,
abandoned properties,
junk vehicles,
recreational vehicles and
high grass.
This program ensures compliance with property maintenance ordinances, zoning ordinances and building code regulations. The office maintains records on all buildings and properties within Trotwood and is responsible for the identification and remediation of blighted, unkempt, hazardous and unsafe properties. Its duties include:
• maintaining properties consistent with the Property Maintenance Ordinance
• pursuing violations to gain compliance
• protecting neighborhood health and safety
• reviewing all permit requests in a timely manner
• conducting field inspections on vacant properties
• performing mowing and clean-up operations
