POLICE ACCREDITATION
In April 2003 Trotwood Police earned its initial Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and joined an elite group of less than 1,000 departments nationwide. As part of the CALEA requirements, the City must post Internal Affairs Investigation Statistics.

• 2 of 11 (18%) IA Investigations completed resulted in some form of discipline
• 10 Formal Investigations, 1 Inquiry
• 12 Officers were involved in the 11 IA Investigations2009

of 8 (25%) IA Investigations completed resulted in some form of discipline
• 6 Formal Investigations, 2 Inquiries
• 10 Officers were involved in the 8 IA Investigations
2008
• 11 Internal Affairs (IA) Investigations (three still under investigation)

of 8 (37%) IA Investigations completed resulted in some form of discipline
• 7 Formal Investigations, 2 Informal Investigations, 2 Inquiries
• 15 Officers were involved in the 11 IA Investigations
2007
• 26 Internal Affairs (IA) Investigations
• 3 of 26 (11.5%) IA Investigations resulted in some form of discipline
• 15 Formal Investigations, 7 Informal Investigations, 4 Inquiries
• 24 Officers were involved in the 26 IA Investigations
2006
• 18 Internal Affairs (IA) Investigations• 3 of 18 (17%) IA Investigations resulted in some form of discipline
• 8 Formal Investigations, 10 Informal Investigations, 3 Inquiries
• 15 Officers were involved in the 18 IA Investigations
