07.13.10- Next Adopt-A-Roadway Pickup Day July 24th
The
City's next Adopt-A-Roadway pickup day will be on July 24th from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
This program greatly improves the appearance of roadways and public right-of-ways throughout Trotwood while reducing the cost of litter removal. It works because dedicated volunteers do their part to make it a success.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
• Adopt a one-mile section of a roadway
• Follow City safety regulations
• Remove litter three times each year
• Dedicate two years to the program
City Responsibilities:
• Assist with safety meetings
• Provide safety vests and litter bags
• Pick up collected litter at specific pre-arranged locations
• Post Adopt-A-Roadway signs recognizing the volunteer group at the beginning and end of their sectionEach year groups and organizations that volunteer their time to helping clean up Trotwood’s roadways truly make a difference. Their efforts also ease the load on the City's Public Works crews, which enables them to devote more time to road maintenance and special road projects. The volunteers’ reward is the civic pride that comes from knowing they’ve made a huge difference in their community.
Anyone interested in getting involved in the Adopt-A-Roadway Program please download and mail the Adopt-A-Roadway Application to 3035 Olive Road, Trotwood, OH 45426 or fax it to (937) 854-0574.
