12.02.11- Trotwood Getting New Company, Jobs
At their November 21 meeting, Trotwood City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a $150,000 Montgomery County ED/GE Agreement on behalf of a new company moving to Trotwood. The ED/GE grant would be used to renovate and rehab an existing industrial building for their new operations here.
The Phoenix Tube Company, established in Aurora, Illinois in 2009 will be taking over the former PMG building at 5800 Wolf Creek Pike in early December. Phoenix Tube is a manufacturer of steel tubing used in everything from automotive exhausts to bicycle frames to fence posts.
The company expects to create 25 jobs in its first year of operations and another 25 jobs within 24-36 months. The average wage for production employees there is expected to be $18 per hour. Their annual payroll is estimated to be $750,000 within 36 months and $1 Million within 5 years.
