PARKS & RECREATION
JOIN THE ADOPT-A-PARK PROGRAM
The City’s Adopt-A-Park Program greatly improves the appearance of City parks throughout Trotwood. It eases the load on Public Works crews, enabling them to devote more time to other maintenance projects. And it rewards volunteers with great civic pride in knowing they’ve made a huge difference in their community. Here’s how it works. Groups or organizations adopt an assigned park and agree to visit it three (3) times a year for a two-year time period to help keep it clean and report conditions that may require further attention by Public Works crews.
Adopt-A-Park participants are asked to:
• Pick up litter
• Sweep court surfaces, trails and sidewalks
• Clean picnic tables and benches
• Clean and rake children’s play areas
• Weed flowerbeds
• Plant flowers or trees
• Report vandalism damage, graffiti and unclean restrooms
• Report unsafe conditions and structures needing repair
The City will:
• Assist with safety meetings
• Provide brooms, dustpans and rakes
• Pick up collected litter at specific pre-arranged park locations
• Post Adopt-A-Park Signs recognizing the volunteer group at the park entrance
To get started simply download the Adopt-A-Park Application (PDF) and fax it to (937) 854-0574 or mail it to 3035 Olive Road, Trotwood, OH 45426. For more information please contact Parks & Recreation Program Specialist Terry Lodge at (937) 854-7217 or tlodge@trotwood.org
