Honor Guard

The Trotwood Fire & Rescue Honor Guard is a precision drill and ceremony team that trains to meet the standards taught by the National Honor Guard Academy and US military. Members are versed in line of duty death protocols and honors, flag etiquette, fire service related traditions and ceremonies as well as in military styled ceremonial presentations which are occasionally integrated into city public addresses. The Honor Guard strives to embody our department’s core values of Pride, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy. PRIDE. Our team is dedicated to not only aiding our department in times of need but is humbled when able to assist other departments in their times of need.

Responsibilities:

  • LODD related issues including honors for the fallen, funeral planning, ceremonial planning, family services, benefit package assistance, and other such necessities
  • Non-LODD and retiree funeral related necessities
  • Drill and Ceremony training
  • Drill Competition
  • Ceremonial Protocol
  • Representing our department at special events

Our Honor Guard can and will aid any department that may need help in the event of a LODD or other type of service. We can assist with the planning of the event and the training of the department’s personnel so that THEY can best do right by their fallen member. We are also willing to open our training to other departments to share the knowledge we have gained throughout the past few years. We look forward to serving you with PRIDE.
