06.21.10- City Holds 3rd Neighborhood Walk & Talk June 26th

On Saturday, June 26th, the City will hold its third Neighborhood Walk & Talk from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Trotwood Boulevard Neighborhood of Ward 3. Mayor Joyce S. Cameron, Vice-Mayor Ron Vaughn, the City Manager and Department Directors will be there to give those residents an opportunity to voice their concerns directly with City leaders.

The first Neighborhood Walk & Talk was held on April 24th, when Mayor Cameron, Council Member Barb Staggs and interim Council Member Nicole Johnson were joined by staff in the Oakview Estates Neighborhood. On May 29th the Mayor and Council Member Rap Hankins led the event in the Medowdale Neighborhood.  Both times City leaders knocked on doors and asked homeowners to share their concerns, and this unique approach led to some very positive responses from many of the residents.

The Neighborhood Walk & Talk program will run for three more months, with City leaders appearing in a different Trotwood neighborhood each month to concentrate on neighborhood stability and public services.

"During these times of vastly limited government resources, our citizens need help more than ever before.
Which means we must focus more on improving the quality of life for all Trotwood residents, especially in their neighborhoods”, said Mayor Cameron. “We want to hear what’s on our residents’ minds while we listen for ways to make our government more responsive to them."

Continues the Mayor, “I sincerely hope you’ll participate when our ‘Walk and Talk’ comes to your neighborhood. We will be knocking on doors to listen to citizens' concerns and answer any questions they may have regarding city services and economic development.”
